Dr. Haim Tawil was born and raised in Monmouth County. He completed his undergraduate training in Biomedical Engineering at Rutgers University prior to obtaining his Doctorate of Medical Dentistry (DMD) from the University of Pennsylvania. During his time at UPenn, Dr. Tawil also completed his Master’s Degree in Biomedical Engineering, with a focus on biotechnology, including dental adhesives, implant surfaces, and palatal expansion in adolescents. Dr. Tawil was elected to treat patients at the University of Pennsylvania’s Honor’s Clinic, focusing on complex clinical cases.
After graduating at the top of his class from the University of Pennsylvania, Dr. Tawil combined his passion for dentistry and engineering and pursued his specialty degree in Orthodontics at Rutgers University. At the same time, Dr. Tawil completed his second Master’s Degree, in Dental Science, while performing research on the latest technology in intraoral dental scanners. Dr. Tawil was elected Chief Resident, and graduated at the top of his Orthodontic class.
Immediately upon completing his training, Dr. Tawil sat for his Board Certification, requiring an extensive review of actual cases treated by Dr. Tawil. This Certification is the highest standard in the profession, and is only held by 40% of orthodontists.
Dr. Tawil believes in incorporating his extensive dental and engineering background with the latest research and technological advancements in his practice of orthodontics. His caring demeanor, professionalism, and commitment to the ideal treatment of each patient results in excellent patient care. He enjoys treating the most challenging of cases and watching his patients’ confidence sore as their smiles improve.
Dr. Tawil lives in New Jersey with his wife Debra, a nurse practitioner, and their three daughters. While not working, Dr. Tawil enjoys family hikes, playing baseball, fishing, and collecting more antique dental books than he likes to admit.
